Our new patent-pending nanoFAST® (Fluorescence Analysis of Single Transporters) platform technology allows to directly observe membrane transport by many individual transport proteins in parallel. Using automated fluorescence imaging systems the biochips deliver statistically significant real-time kinetic data for membrane transport and thus provide a completely new quality and plenitude of data. |

The technology will find its place in pharmaceutical drug-transporter, drug-drug interaction assays and in the characterization of the ADME (Absorption-Distribution-Metabolism-Excretion) profiles of drug candidates. We expect the most interesting applications in the areas of ABC transporters research and other multidrug resistance related proteins. Future applications of our biochips will comprise membrane and cell permeability assays. |
