Gold-coated and nanoporous nanoFAST chips
...focusing on innovative micro- and nanostructured biochips for the fluorescence based analysis of membrane transport processes. Our new patent-pending nanoFAST® (Fluorescence Analysis of Single Transporters) platform technology allows to directly observe membrane transport by many individual transport proteins in parallel. Using automated fluorescence imaging systems the biochips deliver statistically significant real-time kinetic data for membrane transport and thus provide a completely new quality and plenitude of data. |

We believe that the technology will find its place in pharmaceutical drug-transporter, drug-drug interaction assays and in the characterization of the ADME (Absorption-Distribution-Metabolism-Excretion) profiles of drug candidates. We expect the most interesting applications in the areas of ABC transporters research and other multidrug resistance related proteins. Other interesting applications of our biochips include the characterisation of cell penetrating peptides, the translocation of nanoparticles through membranes and cell permeability assays. |
